Commission D (Electronics and Photonics)

Activity Report (July 2003〜October 2003)

 

(1)      The following international and domestic meetings were co-sponsored by or strongly related to Commission D. 

1.       The 8^th International Topical Meeting on Microwave Photonics was held in Budapest, Hungary, September 10^th – 12^th, 2003.  More than 140 people attended the meeting.  The chairperson of Commission D (I. M.) chaired the International Steering Committee Meeting.

2.       Special symposium on “Optical and MM-Wave Wireless Communication Technologies for Ubiquitous Lives" in the 2003 IEICE Society Meeting was be held in Niigata, September 23, 2003.

3.       The 11^th IEEE International Conference on Terahertz Electronics (THz 2003) was held in Sendai, Japan, September 24^th – 26^th, 2003.

4.       The 16^th International Conference on Optical Fiber Sensors (OFS-16) was held in Nara, Japan, October 13^th – 17^th, 2003.

5.       The 1^st Technical Meeting of Microwave and MM-Wave Photonics was held in Tokyo, October 24^th, 2003.  More than 60 people attended the meeting and enjoyed a laboratory tour in NHK-Giken.

 

(2)      The following international and domestic meetings are in preparation, which are co-sponsored by or strongly related to Commission D.

1.       The 3^rd Technical Meeting of Ultrafast Optoelectronics will be held in Tokyo, November 26, 2003.

2.       The 7th International Symposium on Contemporary Photonics Technology (CPT 2004) will be held, January 14^th -16^th 2004, Tokyo, Japan.

3.       The 5^th Japan-Korea Joint Workshop on Microwave Photonics will be held in Shiga, Japan, January 29^th – 30^th, 2004.

4.       The 3^rd International Symposium on Organic Molecular Electronics will be held in Kyoto, Japan, May 18^th – 19^th, 2004.

5.       The Optoelectronics and Communications Conference (OECC) and Conference on Optical Internet (COIN) will be held together in Yokohama, Japan, July 12^th – 16^th, 2004.

6.       The 10^th International Symposium on Microwave and Optical Technology (ISMOT-2005) will he held in Fukuoka, Japan, August 22^nd – 25^th, 2005.
