Taking account of students' various and varying interests,
we offer a wide range of courses (lectures and seminars) through a broad curriculum,
and provide our graduate students with all of the necessary materials to advance their learning process,
from basic concepts, basic theories and basic technologies to practical applications, and with all the necessary guidance to advance their researching process.
-
The full-time academic staff of our EECE course are all tenured and hold all the doctorates in engineering (Doctor of Engineering degrees) or Ph. D. degrees.
The academic staff members have earned our graduate school a fine reputation in both national and international academic circles through activities of not only publishing their research papers in national and international journals but also presenting their research papers at international conferences or symposia, on various topics in EECE.
As a matter of course, they have the academic ability to be highly responsive to student's needs of learning and researching.
In the Master's degree program, taking account of students' various and varying interests,
we educate our students by the full-time academic staff of our EECE course as well as the part-time academic staff composed of distinguished professors of the Information and System Engineering Course, outstanding professors of other universities, and prominent researchers of leading companies, who take charge of elective lectures in specialized fields of advanced electrical and electronic engineering and its related technologies.
-
Every graduate student enrolled in our EECE course is required to choose his or her advisor from among the full-time academic staff of our EECE course,
who will provide the student with adequate guidance about decisions concerning his or her research and study program.
Depending on the research area of the student, if necessary, the advisor chosen gives research guidance to the student additionally with a different member of the full-time academic staff, who is called the secondary advisor of the student.
Each advisor has his own research laboratory, for promoting his R&D activities, at which his graduate students are researching and studying under his supervision.
Each advisor is striving to provide his students with his specific research guidance through seminars or laboratory work so that each student may obtain as various branches of fundamental knowledge as possible, survey his or her research field in advance, think by himself or herself, find the way of solving problems and then complete his or her thesis or dissertation.
Since graduate students are generally apt to become highly specialized only in their own fields of interest, each advisor also pays a special attention to guidance to his students so that each student may consider things from a people- and environmentally-friendly view. Main research topics of advisors in our EECE course are listed in the table below, where the "group" means broad categories of the fields of research.
-
The doctoral program in our EECE course is offered to students who seek the doctorates in engineering (Doctor of Engineering degree) but it is attractive especially to foreign applicants because the problems of a special entrance examination for foreign students will be given in both Japanese and English and be allowed to be answered in English only.
-
Besides the regular Master's degree and doctoral programs, we also put a special emphasis on the dissertation doctoral degree program, which is attractive to competent engineers, researchers and technology professionals working in their career fields but not holding the doctorates.
